THE SPACE

REBUILDING THE VILLAGE, ONE DAY AT A TIME…

Beginning in January 2026, The Space is held every other month in Bridport (DT6), on either a Friday or Saturday.

A place to land.
A circle to return to.
A bi-monthly sanctuary for women who are tired of carrying everything alone.

Next gathering: Saturday 9 May 2026.

~ A day together ~

10am – 630pm with optional overnight stay

women gathering around my kitchen table

Bring whatever you’re carrying, the grief, the rage, the unexpected joy, the confusion, and remember what it feels like to not be alone with any of it.

We are rebuilding the village, one day at a time. Not through big speeches or grand plans, but through simple things. Sitting in circle, sharing food, breathing together, ending the day by the fire.

There was a time when women lived in close companionship, across generations, holding each other through the everyday and the extraordinary. That sense of shared life has been fractured. Many of us now carry everything alone, disconnected from the support and wisdom we were never meant to be without.

And it leaves us tired. Full. Wanting somewhere to bring it all.
Whatever you are feeling, there is space for it here.

Each month, I open my home for something I call The Space. A day to come together in a place created with care, where we can share food and stories, breathe, soften, laugh and cry, and simply be held in community.

Anyone who identifies as a woman is warmly welcome. As part of my commitment to belonging, I hold two places for women from brown, Black, and other marginalised communities, where seeing ourselves reflected can make it easier to settle. The venue has step free access to the main areas.

The Space is a small, in person gathering for women who want real connection and steady support. This is not about fixing or changing you. It is about being held, and not having to do life on your own anymore.

Rebuilding the village. One day at a time. Let yourself land here.

What is This?

The Space is a day held every other month, in a warm, private setting, where women gather in steady, human company.

We sit in circle.
We share food.
We breathe and move gently.
The day unfolds responsively, rather than following a fixed agenda.

There is structure, but it’s a container, not a schedule.

If someone needs silence, we honour that.
If something tender arises, it’s held.
If laughter comes, it’s welcomed.

You’re not coming to be taught or fixed or transformed. You’re coming to be supported, and to remember you were never meant to do this alone.

Most spaces are one-off experiences. The Space is a rhythm. Women come once, and many choose to return, because once you know where to land, it’s hard to go without it.

Your booking includes:

  • The in-person day
  • Ongoing connection with the women you gather with
  • Monthly online circles to stay connected between gatherings

what does the day look like?

"Just come in, and we'll look after you. Whether you're bursting with joy or falling apart - there's room for all of it."

My hope and intention for these days is that you will take home with you:

  • The calm that comes from a slower pace
  • The relief of being taken care of with excessive love and gentleness
  • The lightness that comes from sharing whatever you’re carrying
  • The reminder that belonging is built in small, steady steps

Who Am I?

I’m Jax – a counsellor, breathworker, interfaith minister, wife, mother, woman. I know what it’s like to be the one others lean on.

I’ve spent years supporting women through counseling, breathwork, and community spaces. What I’ve learned is simple:

The deepest shifts don’t come from more insight, they come from not being alone anymore.

I hold this space with the support of trusted friends who are co-hosts, experienced counsellors, coaches, and circle holders, so that whatever arises is met with steadiness and care. We know what to do when people need to cry or laugh or just sit quietly for a while.

You don’t have to manage yourself here, that’s our job.

“Come exactly as you are, angry, exhausted, heartbroken, joyously happy, or perfectly content. We’re not here to fix each other, we’re just here to be real people having real human experiences together.”

Why my house?

This isn't a venue or retreat centre, it's where I live, and you're invited in.

Littlehill is my sanctuary. I am also lucky enough to call it my home.

Nestled in one of the most beautiful parts of southern England, within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and just three miles from the World Heritage coastline, the Dorset landscape here holds a quiet, nurturing presence. Rolling hills stretch out around us, offering a sense of space and steadiness.

The village of Whitchurch Canonicorum has long been associated with healing. The saint connected to the church is a woman, and her relics remain there still. Her tomb has been a place of pilgrimage for hundreds of years.

The house itself is a countryside home with gardens, a fire pit, and a natural pool. The kitchen is warm and inviting. The chairs are soft, the sofas are snuggly. Rooms are filled with earthy tones, soft blankets, and wide windows that let the morning light gently filter in.

The idea for The Space began at my kitchen table one morning, sitting with a cup of tea in the early light. I found myself reflecting on what a gift it was to begin the day in this way, in this place.

In that quiet moment, I began to wonder what it might feel like to share this sanctuary with others. From that simple thought, held with care, The Space began to take shape.

WHO IT'S FOR

this space might be for you if...

The Space is for you if…
…you are often the one others lean on

You are capable and emotionally aware…
...thoughtful, steady, and holding more than most people realise

You don’t need a breakdown…
...to know that something about the way you’re living isn’t sustainable

You want a place where you can arrive exactly as you are…
...and be met with warmth, care, and honesty

You don’t need to be struggling or spiritual…
...you don’t need to know what you’ll say or how you’ll show up

You just need to be ready…
…to stop holding everything alone and allow yourself to be in the space where you are held

who usually comes?

All sorts of women come. Some exhausted, some energised, some grieving, some celebrating, many feeling several things at once. What we share is a desire for real connection and companionship.

You don’t need to be spiritual, into wellness, or good at talking about feelings.
You don’t need to be struggling to belong here.

If you’re feeling steady and want to share that with others, you’re welcome.
If you’re in pieces and need holding, you’re equally welcome.

Still not sure if it’s for you? If you’re thinking “I’m doing okay right now” or “I don’t want to bring others down” or “maybe I don’t belong,” that is exactly the kind of thinking this space is here to hold.

Trust that you belong here, with whatever you’re carrying.
